MBR Days 9-10

Day_10_002_2 Yesterday was spent cutting tile to fit the threshold and shower pan edges. That was a lot of tile to cut. I used up one of my tile blades on it.

Today we mixed up the Laticrete Epoxy that came with the shower pan. The stuff starts out like cake batter and ends up like stiff peanut butter after an hour or so. It sticks to everything in sight and is super messy. This was hard to work with. It was definitely a two person job. I’m lucky I’m not stuck to the floor somewhere.

There wasn’t enough of the stuff to do the first vertical pieces on the wall. I’ll have to find some more and have another go at it. I’m not looking forward to that.

The pictures show the cleaned up floor with all the spacers removed. It looks pretty good. One tile is a little out of place, but it will be under the vanity. I’m gonna pretend it is the flaw in the Navajo blanket.

The shower pan stilll has all the spacers, but it looks pretty good. We are about half way with getting the tile up. Once that is done, the rest of this stuff should come together pretty quick.
