We made major progress in the kitchen over the weekend. We got the sink side cabinets in place. We hope to get the countertops, plumbing, and dishwasher in over the next couple of days. There is over a half inch of sag in the floor over the course of about eight feet. I was shimming like crazy to get it all to come out ok. If I run into anything straight, square, or level in this place, I’ll know I’m looking at my own work. Nothing of the original managed to stay square over the 50 years this place has been here.

While working on the lower cabinets I managed to stand up and really whack my head on the corner of the upper cabinets a couple of times. That flat learning curve really got me there. I have a couple of good knots on the bean now.
