A Climbing Weekend

We spent the weekend getting a fair amount of climbing in. Saturday we drove up to Moore’s Wall. Jack and Tom climbed. Ivy and I bailed. It was way to cold to be any fun. Between the shade and the wind I wasn’t about to put a hand on the rock and feel the last bit of heat in my body get sucked out. By the time we got home we had racked up a lot of driving, a long hard hike, and a lot of shivering.

Here is a picture of Jack leading high on Washboard. I want to come back in nicer weather and jump on this one.

Moorescrowders08 We went to Crowder’s Mountain on Sunday and played on a bunch of fun climbs. It was warmer, but the rock at Crowder’s was as sharp as ever – ouch.

Here is Tom on Pleasant Dreams.

Moorescrowders43 Ivy did some good climbing, too. Here she is styling her way up the Fortress wall. Moorescrowders34_2

We actually started the day over on a real tricky climb that I wanted to hit. I’ve done it once or twice a long time ago. Here I am trying to trying to scootch my way up the overhanging offwidth crack on Sadistic Rythm. I didn’t quite make it up on Saturday, so now I’ll have to get back there and beat this one again.
