Barefoot

You gotta love December in Texas. Ivy came to Houston for the weekend and we decided to go look at a couple of boats on the market in Kemah. We bundled up in shorts against the 80 plus degree weather and headed to the marina.

As we got near the dock we were greeted by Dave and Rene, a couple we know from the yacht club at Canyon Lake. They had just bought a 42' Lagoon catamaran and were getting ready to move it to their new slip at a different marina.

We got a tour of their beautiful boat and the chance to ride with them on the inaugural journey on it. I guess that makes us "plank owners" of a sort. Maybe it would be more correct to say "cork owners" as we celebrated the safe trip with champagne and all aboard signed the cork.

Later, Ivy and I went over to the Kemah boardwalk and watched the boats coming and going. We got to see a fleet of dinghies crewed by little kids being towed in from a day out on the bay. It was like a momma duck bringing the ducklings home.

All in all it was a great day. Barefoot on December 1st – you just can't beat that.
