Ever have one of those days where it feels like you are trying to go up the down escalator and every time you try to speed up some maniac speeds the escalator up just a little faster? Yeah, that was today. The crowning moment of this exercise was when the rudder on our sailboat snapped in half in the middle of the race. We managed to drop the sails and motor in steering with the outboard. It was a little tense, but I guess that we can chalk this all up to experience and hope it makes us better and more confident in the future.
We just spent three weeks with the mast down so that we could replace all the wires that hold it up. They worked just fine today. You have to count your wins where you can.
