five pictures tell the story:
We got a call last Friday from the yacht club. It was one we've been waiting for since last spring. We finally got a slip at the private yacht club marina. WooHoo!!! We finally get out of the public marina that is pretty much falling apart and poorly run. The new place is much nicer and less expensive. Now we'll have even more money to pour into boat projects.
We motor sailed in really light winds there yesterday. The new place is very nice. When we pulled in there I looked around and kind of felt like Jed and his kin moving in to the house with the cement pond. Our boat desperately needs a washing and tidying up. We've been so focused on the big chores with the new veneer and the wiring job that we've let the outside look pretty grungy.
Since the new place is a Yacht Club, every time I go there I look around for a Judge Smails (Ted Knight) in his blue blazer. I know they love their racing here. That's not my thing, but at least the races will keep them occupied in a specified area so I won't have to be dodging them as we Captain Ron around the lake. We are looking forward to the new place. We have a few friends there that moved ahead of us, and I'm sure that there are some nice people already there. As long as I don't need a blue blazer and white hat, and don't have to give up slow boating for relaxation and take up snailboat racing, then I'm sure we'll be just fine in the new place.
