My thumb has healed up. My carelessness with the knife has cost me a bit my range of motion but I'm still reasonably dexterous (sinisterous?) with it.
Once I had my hand working I went to town building some bookcases for my office. First stop for that task was to go buy a used table saw. I got a decent saw that will do the job I need for a good price. It took a drive to Austin and back, but Ivy and I were able to load it and get it back to the shop out back without damaging ourselves or it. I spent a couple of weeks on the bookcases and they turned out pretty good.
The shop is a total mess of trash and junk we are throwing away. I've taken out some of the old benches that were there. Between that stuff and all the old wood and branches that Ivy has cut, we have to get a dumpster in here to clear it out. We've started painting and getting ready to turn the place into a real workshop, though.
