Ivy Speaks

Hello again.  Stan keeps saying he will keep this up as he is a much better writer than I am…. but here it is almost 3 months and not a post. Stan & pups 2-23

We had a crazy ice storm earlier this year. It was only a few days but it was terrible for our tress. Branches Stan can normally walk under  were literally touching the ground. Winter 22-23 z

Some recovered but we lost so many branches and limbs. After the freeze we had a couple of high wind days that brought down a few more limbs. We still have broken dead branches in the trees that we cant safely reach, so we have a tree trimming company coming but it has taken weeks to get them here to give us an estimate and they still haven't done any work. The freeze was so bad all the companies are working overtime to catch up. I hope we get it all cleaned up soon.

On another downer note, in early March Rylee had 3 seizures in a weeks time.  We were feeling so good about her progress and were lowering the dosage of her meds and were quite shocked when they started again.  It had been 8 months since her last one.  We are back to the original dosage and there have been no more seizures since the increase.  Hopefully this will control them.

More dog news (because that's about all we have). We have been working a lot on their out of control reaction to anything near their territory. If they are in the house, yard or truck and anyone or thing is within their view, they lose their doggy minds. This includes dogs being walked, joggers, any delivery vehicle, any golf cart and once in the truck cows in a pasture across the four lane road. We are making progress but it's slow with lots of back sliding. We'll keep at it and get under control eventually. They are such good dogs

when we are out with them just not on their territory.

We have had some fun even though the weather has not been the most cooperative and the lake levels are so very low. We got the boat out for a couple of nice sails. We served as crew for a friend that was taking a newbie couple out for a lesson. That was really nice and I learned a few new things. Another day we able to join a friend on his kayak sail boat. It was a lot of fun to play on and we really appreciate him taking us out.

I have a trip to see my dad in SC coming up. Just have to decide if I drive (my preference) or fly(saves so much time).  Got to decide soon!
