Ivy Speaks

My how time flies. Here we are in the middle of April.  Quick catch up.

We finished the vanity part of the bathroom update. Super happy with our choices and workmanship. We wore all the hats for this part… carpenter, plumber, tiler and electrician.

We have the tile for the shower area but have not started that part as we also want to add a deck out back. Just a 10×11 simple deck to cover where the dogs refuse to let grass grow.  Hopefully we can add on to it later. Being the intelligent Texans that we are, we understand how hot and how quickly it becomes hot here, so we decided to tackle the deck while we have a little cooler weather and go back to the bath when it's too hot to work outside. The materials should arrive this week so I expect the rain to begin soon.

I am also cleaning out a large rock covered area in the back.  I knew it would be a big job and it is. Three afternoons cleaning out the area and pulling out rocks and there seem to be as many now as when I started.  Fortunately, the weather has been kind and the pups like hanging out with me.

Stan nearly wrecked again on his recumbent bike a few weeks ago. It was enough to encourage him to get a CatTrike.  He's only had a couple of rides but seems really happy with it.

On a much sadder note.  Dad 3-14 a

My Dad's health deteriorated quickly from early December until his death in March. I still reach for the phone to give him a call. He was a good father and he is missed greatly.  I think between having some time to see it coming and then being the executor of his will and having to handle all the legalities, I haven't completely processed his death.  Honestly, death is hard enough without the government's involvement. I am still waiting on the Probate Court to certify me as executor, which must happen before I can carry out any of the things necessary to carry out his will.

Guess that's about it for now.  See ya next time
