Let’s see:
- Prime and two coats of paint – Check!
- Grout Floor – Check!
- Install Commode – Check
- Install and plumb vanity and sink – Check!
- Clean out the epoxy that we got on the tiles – Check!
Gosh – It sounds simple when I put it like that. No mention of the nasty plaster dust going everywhere. Installing, then reinstalling the commode when the first wax ring didn’t seat properly. The five trips to Lowes yesterday for supplies. The five additional trips to Lowes today for more supplies. The painfully ripped blister in the palm from the grout float. The aching back and knees from being bent at bad angles for long periods of time. The absolute maddening frustration when the plumbing guy at Lowes gave me the wrong pieces for the sink drain.
The grouted floor really looks nice. The grout is a bit lighter than we expected, but it turned out pretty good anyway. The countertop for the vanity is also lighter than we thought it would be. But, all in all, we are doing good. I’m letting my baby soft hand heal up a bit before going back at the grouting for the shower.
Once that is done, the only big monster job left will be the shower doors. The other stuff, trim, lights, fan, ceiling may take a bit of time, but shouldn’t be be too difficult.
