We got the shower doors and mirror up. I like the way they look. I think things will look pretty awesome when we finish. The shower door is just tall enough that I can get in and out without ducking. It went up pretty easy, too. The hardest part of this was drilling the porcelain tiles. Each hole took about ten minutes of drill work. I ate up three tile bits doing it. After that, it went together smoothly. Kohler obvously had someone with english as their first language writing the directions. They made fairly good sense.
We ran into a hitch or two today. First, and easiest to fix, I cut the opening for the light and fan switches too big. It shows beneath the switchplate. It looks bad, but won’t take much to square away -that is what mud was invented for. We knew we had some touch up painting on the walls to do anyway. Next, I can’t figure out the wiring for the lights over the mirror. There is a whole extra line in the box. Plus the switch doesn’t seem to touch the light. It just stays on. I’ve tried a bunch of combinations with the four wires and the light either stays on or I pop the breaker. Time for a pro to come in. I’ll surrender before I burn the house down.
We have painted the trim – It should take a half day or so to install. Plus, we still have to paint the ceiling. There’s not too much left. I’m ready for it to be over!
